Abstract

By combing the Gutzwiller approximation with a variational Schrieffer-Wolff transformation we have constructed theoretical framework that allows one to study Mott physics, both in equilibrium and far from it, with a minimal computational effort. We disclose capabilities of our novel many-body tool on the example of the metal-to-insulator Mott transition [1] as well as the dynamical Mott transition in the single band Hubbard model.
