Abstract

We investigate by means of the  Gutzwiller variational approach the equiblibrium phase diagram of a ferromagnetic state described by the Hubbard model Hamiltonian. We find that magnetic phase separation between two metallic solutions, characterized by different magnetizations. In addition, we break the spin U(1) symmetry by introducing off diagonal tunneling processes. Despite its simplicity the model shows a rich phase diagram.
